Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu Alexandra, she entered the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various series on TV by the time she was just 16. She was praised for her part as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way for more memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. Other Oscar nominated movies featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in a variety of notable international and national projects throughout her career. This includes The British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time and as French Historical Miniseries Napoleon. Furthermore, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
